Bethesda, Md.-based biotech firm Spherix Inc. said this week that it expects to seek regulatory approval for Naturlose, a new Type 2 diabetes drug next year, according to a recent article from the Washington Business Journal.
The company said that it received encouraging data from the drug, which is said to naturally lower glucose levels in the blood. The drug is currently in a Phase 3 trial at more than 40 clinical research sites in the U.S. and India. A total of 332 patients are involved in the study.
