California farmworkers have a higher risk of developing Type 2 diabetes due pollutants in the air, according to a recent article from the Sacramento Bee.
The article cited the journal California Agriculture, which is published by the University of California. Researchers looked at the effects of particulates inhaled by lab animals They also looked at California farmworkers’ pesticide exposure, noting that there may be a link between diabetes risk and pesticides.
The study also noted a link between respiratory problems due to poor air quality.
