Medtronic, maker of medical devices, is recalling a small plastic tube that is used to deliver insulin from a patient’s insulin pump to their body, according to the Associated Press. The piece is part of Quick-set infusion sets and are used with MiniMed Paradigm insulin pumps.
The tube may not work properly, delivering too much or too little insulin to the patient. This can cause serious injury or death Medtronic says it has not heard of any such incidents.
Infusion sets included in the recall have reference numbers MMT-396, MMT-397, MMT-398 and MMT-399. Also, sets with lot numbers starting with the number 8 printed on the product’s packaging are included in the recall.
