‘Sugar Drop’, a 20 minute horror film about a diabetic who calculates his insulin dosage incorrectly, premiered recently in the U.K., according to a recent article published by Medical News Today.
The first film in a series called the Bitter Sweet Trilogy, Sugar Drop is the creation of Tom Craig, a Type 1 diabetic and lecturer at the University of Derby. The main character in the film is trapped and alone while his blood sugar drops rapidly and he begins to hallucinate.
The films are designed to raise diabetes awareness in a unique way. Profits generated from the film’s premier were donated to the organization Diabetes UK.
