A. Kelsey Metcalf
Biography
Kelsey Metcalf writes monthly columns about diabetes and travel as well as parenting as a diabetic. She has had type 1 diabetes for 29 years and visited four continents. She currently lives in the Midwest where she’s happy that it’s a relatively short flight to virtually anywhere in the U.S. She carries the titles of Mom, Wife, Writer, Graphic/Web Designer and Manager. Her titles do not include Travel Agent, Airport Security Specialist, or Endocrinologist. Please keep this in mind when reading her prattle.

Brett Moulton
Biography
Brett Moulton writes a quarterly column about outdoors activities and living an active lifestyle with Type 1 diabetes through proper training and planning. Brett, who has always had a passion for sports and outdoor activities, has been a Type 1 diabetic for 37 years and wears a MiniMed insulin pump. From hiking, cycling, mountain climbing and snow skiing to five-day backpacking trips through the Grand Canyon, he has lived his life believing there is nothing that a Type 1 diabetic can't do with proper training and planning.

Biography
Mark-John will be writing monthly columns on diabetes awareness, community and both online and offline social networking. Mark-John is the co-Founder and pioneer of multiple online diabetic communities that work in conjunction with offline grass roots groups. Originally misdiagnosed as a Type 2 diabetic, Mark-John has Type 1.5 (LADA) diabetes. He spends a great deal of time as a blogger in an attempt to raise diabetes awareness and help bring people together. He also co-founded a non-profit organization called World Diabetic KID'Z Foundation. Far from his days on Wall Street, he now resides in California with his wife Patti.

Biography
Mylan Hawkins writes a quarterly column about diabetes programs, resources, information and advocacy. For the past 40 years she has specialized in the development and management of non-profit organizations. She is a founding member and administrator of the Diabetes Educational Center and has been the State Executive Director of the Nevada Diabetes Association since 1996.

Phil Eager
Biography
Phil Eager writes columns about diabetes and stress management, mental health, family matters and communication. Diagnosed as a Type 1 diabetic at the age of 12 in 1973, Phil has a long and varied history with diabetes.
After starting out as the Land Sports Director and residential counselor at Camp Firefly, an American Diabetes Association (ADA) summer camp outside of Philadelphia in the early 1980s, Phil went on to be a Counselor at the Diabetes Treatment Center of America at Metropolitan Hospital in Philadelphia. He is a National Board Certified Counselor and a Washington State Certified School Counselor and currently serves as an Assistant to the Director at Morning Star Boys Ranch, a residential group home for troubled youth.

Biography
Tammy Galligher writes a monthly column about dealing with having long-term diabetes. Diagnosed with Type 1 at the age of 12 years old, Tammy was active in the American Diabetes Youth Association as a teenager. She attended the Youth Associations Congress events in Washington DC in the early 1990s.
She currently lives in Princeton, WV with her husband and two children. She admits that for many years she did not manager her diabetes as well as she could. Currently, she uses an Omnipod and Continuous Glucose Monitoring System to control her diabetes. Her hobbies include political activism, reading, scrap-booking and staying active in the activities of her children.

Thomas Moore
Biography
Thomas Moore writes periodic columns about being a caregiver for loved ones with diabetes. He is currently the Chief Information Officer of Global Diabetic Awareness (GDA) and GDA’s related multiple online projects that work in conjunction with offline grassroots groups to raise diabetes awareness 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Thomas resides in California with his wife Julie, who has Type 1 diabetes.
